Athena Minerva Devine

Dragons collect things that have meaning. I collect stories.

The Author

Athena Devine is an indie author located in North Mississippi. She’s been writing for something along the lines of 25 years. While this has mostly been for herself, she has always held tight to the dream of becoming a published author. She enjoys annoying her pets, Inkspot and Magni, as well as wandering around Azeroth, wielding the Light of the Traveler, traveling around Teyvat, or trailblazing with the Astral Express.

She joined the great adventure of the now defunct National Novel Writing Month in 2004, and figured out her formula to crossing the finish line in 2009. She maintained a winning streak from 2009-2019. 2009 also marked her first encounter with a professional in the writing and publishing industries. After she met that editor, they told her that she had something they didn’t normally see in novice writers, so she decided to suck it up and embark on her dream of being a published author, support or not from the people around her.

Athena’s inspiration for pieces of her worlds come from multiple places, including Tamora Pierce’s Tortall and Emelan, Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar, JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, and Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time.

The dragon’s writings are not esoteric.
